Reunion Weekend: Alumnae Will Share Career and Life Experiences With Students

Alumnae Virtual Reunion Weekend (April 15-17) is just a few weeks away — and it isn’t just for returning grads and their families anymore. In recent years, there’s been a concerted effort to give our students opportunities to interact with and learn from their predecessors, much to the delight of both students and alumnae!
The weekend includes several virtual events that allow students and alumnae to come together and learn from one another. Reunion Weekend will begin Thursday evening, April 15, with the Class of 2021 officially being welcomed into the Alumnae Association at the Reunion Kickoff event. The following afternoon, students will hear from the Career Day Keynote Speaker Andrea Ewing Reid ’80, Director of Diversity and Faculty Development at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Dean for Student and Multicultural Affairs at Harvard Medical School, of which she is a graduate. Then, in two rounds of small-group sessions, a dozen alumnae of varying ages and accomplishments will offer students a glimpse into the real-world of work ahead.

This year’s Career Day participants include an electrical engineer for Chevron, the Senior VP of Design at Hollister, and a certified nurse and midwife, among others, with a strong representation of women in the early stages of their careers sharing their college-to-working world stories. A complete list with short bios will be available for students to choose the sessions they wish to attend.

Saturday will begin with several students participating in a Student Panel, sharing their Foxcroft experiences with alumnae. Immediately following, students will hear from a diverse panel of alumnae at “Courageous Conversations: Using Your Voice for Good.” Students, alumnae, and faculty are all welcome at the event, which has been organized by the Alumnae Council Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. All in all, there are myriad opportunities for students to get to know some of the great Foxcroft women who have gone before them — and for those women to get to know your wonderful daughters!
